Job Description

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside technical representatives and stakeholders to understand project goals and user needs
  • Conduct user research activities to best understand the users of a website or application
  • Facilitate all degrees of usability testing, from informal feedback to more formal task-based testing
  • Create varying levels of product prototypes from sketches and wireframes to interactive prototypes
  • Solve problems not just for immediate project needs but forward-looking to bring innovation to our client’s digital assets
  • Use visual methods such as journey maps, user flows and personas to communicate how users will optimally interact with our clients
  • Conduct competitor analysis
  • Create digital style guides and page layouts to demonstrate the various interaction states on a website or application
  • Create multiple design concepts that provide options for stakeholders and the project team
  • Present findings and work output to a wide range of project representatives and stakeholders
  • Collaborate, not only with fellow members of the Digital Experience & Commerce Team, but with client project sponsors as well
  • Be a champion of design standards and best practices beyond just the Digital Experience & Commerce Team
  • Provide estimates of work effort in project planning
  • Example activities: Customer interviews, Competitive analysis, Product evaluations, Cross-discipline workshop facilitation and participation, Prototyping (from static sketches to interactive prototypes), User testing (in-person and remote / informal and using online tools), journey maps, user flows, site maps, digital style guides, creative concepting, page layout and designs

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in user experience design or related area
  • Bachelor’s Degree – ideally in interaction, graphic or industrial design, human factors or other related field
  • Experience in visual design
  • Experience using Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Excellent analytical skills plus ability to clearly articulate complex design solutions both digitally and verbally
  • Strong relationship management skills involving multidisciplinary teams.
  • Highly productive, detail-oriented, methodical — all with a positive attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with WCAG compliance and ability to apply principles of accessible, universal and inclusive design
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum development processes
  • Familiarity with content strategy and writing for the web
